Sarah Persaud
Sarah Persaud is an 19-year-old who was born and raised in the beautiful city of Windsor. She is currently enrolled in the Concurrent Education Program at the University of Windsor for English Language and Literature. She decided to go into teaching after seeing the difference she can make in the lives of her students through multiple classroom placements and volunteer opportunities at different schools in Windsor-Essex County. She looks forward, with great excitement, to becoming a fully qualified teacher, and plans on pursuing a Masters of Education degree later on. She is also an accomplished singer and has been taking vocal lessons for almost 15 years.Sarah values inclusion, love, and equality not only in school settings, but the community as a whole. Sarah is used to performing publicly at festivals and concerts that benefit charities, such as the Canada Day festival in Amherstburg, and Christmas concerts for the elderly. Throughout her pageant journey, Sarah has gained a great deal of confidence and made many meaningful connections and lifetime friendships. Pageantry has made Sarah realize the importance of caring for one other and helping those in need in our communities. Sarah is extremely proud to be a part of the Miss Windsor 2024 sisterhood, and she were to win the title of Miss Windsor, she plans to spread kindness and her love of education in the community, and bring us closer together through charity events and other opportunities to bring our community together.
Sarah’s platform of choice is the Ronald McDonald Houses Charity (RMHC). Her family had to stay in a RMH when she was ill. Over 138,000 families are turned away from being able to stay in an RMH as a result of a lack of donations. Sarah strives to win the title of Miss Windsor not only to bring our community together, but to also help raise awareness and help families in need of these donations and a place to stay. Sarah wants to continue keeping families close to their sick children, the same way RMHC did for her family.
