Kiana Dobson
Born in the wonderful city of Windsor, Kiana Dobson (21) was raised in Kingsville, Ontario. Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in marketing at the University of Windsor, Kiana anticipates joining the Class of 2024. As the dance technical specialist at Cardinal Carter Middle School/High School with the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, Kiana not only teaches essential dance skills to her students but also instills valuable life lessons, inspiring her young students to apply their learnings in the real world. What ignited Kiana’s interest in participating in Miss Windsor was the profound sense of community involvement that accompanies the pageant. Following her success in the 2023 Swimsuit USA Canada pageant, where she secured the title of Miss Swimsuit USA Canada and advanced to the world finals for the second time where she had placed in the top 10, Kiana has been grateful for the multitude of opportunities that have come her way. From featuring in the upcoming reality TV show “Beyond The Sash” to modeling for “Crane Apparel” on Footlocker Canada, she has become so blessed to be able to represent global fashion and swimwear brands.
From her early years, Kiana has been deeply engaged in community activities. Blessed with numerous opportunities, she participated in the fundraising initiatives for a medical clinic as well as a new classroom in Batac City, Philippines, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students with disabilities to flourish. Having visited the Philippines nine times, Kiana actively participates in community engagement, offering personal support and guidance. In 2019, she played a pivotal role as the Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Relay for Life Committee, orchestrating Cardinal Carter High School’s very first Relay For Life Event that exceeded fundraising expectations.
As the current Dance Captain for the Windsor Express Basketball Team, Kiana extends her passion for dance, volunteering her time to teach and welcome high school students to participate and dance with the Windsor Express Dance Team for a special game day performance. Emerging from a musically inclined family, Kiana’s involvement in the arts began at an early age. She firmly believes in the power of the arts and music to unite people, fostering happiness and joy. In 2019, collaborating with Duff’s Piano Studio, Kiana composed, recorded, and performed her own music, raising awareness for the Children’s Aid Society, with all proceeds dedicated to the cause. With expertise in dance, vocals, violin, and piano, Kiana is ever-ready to extend her skills to encourage, teach, and inspire others whenever an opportunity arises. Her commitment and dedication shine through, making her a dynamic force within her community and beyond.
Being a business student, Kiana understands and acknowledges the importance of small businesses within our community. Having experienced the significance firsthand as an employee of Koi Sushi Kingsville/Lasalle, she understands the intimate connection between small businesses and the heartbeat of a community. This past winter, Kiana has taken her commitment to the next level by actively participating in the creation of Southern Chaarmz Boutique, a new fashion boutique in Kingsville. Collaborating closely with her mother, Marita Dobson, Kiana has been immersed behind the scenes, contributing her business acumen to ensure the boutique’s success. For them, Southern Chaarmz is not merely a business venture; it’s a testament to their belief that fashion extends beyond the garments we wear—it’s about the memories we create along the way.
Kiana is beyond grateful to be a part of the 2024 Miss Windsor Pageant because not only does it align seamlessly with her values but it provides a platform to further her dedication to community engagement, artistic expression, and the empowerment of individuals. She looks forward to not only representing Windsor with grace and pride but also leaving a lasting impact that extends beyond the pageant’s stage.
