Rebecca Drouin
Rebecca Drouin is a 19 year old who was born and raised in the wonderful town of Tecumseh. She is a current student at the University of Windsor, studying Honors Criminology. This being a huge accomplishment to her. She further plans to enroll herself in the OPP auxiliary program after she completes her degree. Rebecca aspires to become a criminal investigator, along with gaining experience as a patrol officer with the overall want to maintain a safe community.
Community is very meaningful to Rebecca, volunteering has been something she has participated in throughout different opportunities in and out of school, as well as opportunities from the 2022 Miss Tecumseh pageant she competed in. Some of her community involvement includes being team captain of her Dragon Boat team, years spent volunteering for the Leukemia Blood Drive, and the Miss Tecumseh car wash. With that being said, throughout her experience in the Miss Tecumseh pageant, Rebecca became so passionate about being involved within the community, along with and having endless opportunities to give back where it is needed. One opportunity in particular is choosing a charity of choice to be able to sponsor if chosen as the new Miss Windsor 2023. Rebecca’s charity of choice is known as the United Way/Centraide of Windsor-Essex county. This organization is extremely important to her for the reasons that she and her family are able to relate to those of youth, or families in our community who struggle daily. This wonderful organization allows the youth and families to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Which is something Rebecca struggled with growing up in rough circumstances. However, the opportunity to bring more awareness to the community and let people know they are not alone is so valued in her heart. A community that is united, and full of positivity and love is what will allow others to never give up!
Being raised in a single family home by her Mother taught her at a young age what struggle was. Having the ability to understand that “ it’s a bad day, not a bad life” made her strong and able to lift herself back up during hard times. This resulted in Rebecca having a positive outlook on life no matter the circumstances, while projecting positivity on to others around her. She is continuously working on being the best version of herself while always improving different aspects of her life. Being an uplighting role model for friends and family is always Rebecca’s main goal. Which is what would make her an excellent role model, especially for the youth in the community. Rebecca is incredibly honored and forever grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of the Miss Windsor 2023 journey, allowing her dedication, grace, positivity, and love shine within the community.
