Angelina Lopresti is a 20-year-old student who is currently enrolled in her third year of Nursing (BScN) at the University of Windsor. After she receives her Bachelor’s degree, she aspires to complete her NCLEX exam to officially become a registered nurse. Angelina aspires to become either a labour and delivery nurse or one that specializes in an outpatient setting. She recently started a job in September of 2022, as a UNE (undergraduate nursing employee) within our local hospital. This has been a great achievement for Angelina as this provides her with a foundation for her future as a nurse.
Angelina began her pageant experience during the summer of 2022 as a Miss Tecumseh contestant. She initially wanted to participate in the pageant to push herself away from her comfort zone. She feels that this experience has led to an enhancement with her confidence, social skills, and as an individual overall. Angelina hopes by obtaining more experiences similar to pageantry, she continues to better herself and become stronger characteristically.
By becoming the best version of herself, Angelina strives to become a role model to show others that a path to success is not impossible and to give back to our community.Health has become a great priority to Angelina not only as a nursing student, but as someone who understands how it feels to struggle with pain regularly. This has contributed to her great inspiration of going to the gym regularly, keeping active, planning her meals accordingly, and taking the time to care for her overall wellbeing as these small aspects of her day makes a great difference.
One organization that has been particularly important to Angelina has been the Hospice of Windsor Essex County. As a nursing student she strongly believes that she is made to be an advocate for others. Having an understanding of end-of-life care and what those receiving this care go through is a very important topic that doesn’t seem to be talked about often.
Angelina feels that if she were to become Miss Windsor, she would want to be a role model in advocating for others that may not feel heard, seen, or even understood.
