Latoya Jones

Latoya Jones is Jamaican-born, permanent resident of the Windsor-Essex area, and a living example of what faith, determination and a mother’s love can produce. Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica — the land of wood and water — and rooted in strong values of kindness, empathy and resilience, she carries her culture and her upbringing with pride in everything she does.

At just 21 years old, Latoya is an undergraduate student at the University of Windsor pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, with a goal set on becoming an Attorney-at-Law, specializing in property law. She already holds an Associate’s of Science in Paralegal Studies and has experienced the legal field as a former legal secretary. Latoya is someone who not only desires a legal future but has actively taken the steps to achieve it. When she is not in the classroom, you will find her enjoying a good law case, conducting research or practicing her Spanish — a true reflection of her need to keep learning and growing.

Raised in a single mother household where she felt seen, loved and valued, Latoya mirrored everything she received and blossomed into a person with an empathetic heart for others, a humble personality and most importantly, love for people. ‘May she flourish in virtue and wisdom’ is a motto she carried with her through her high school years and never left her. Those words were not just heard and recited, they shaped her. Today, she lives this motto, and knows that by every room she steps into she is making an impact, simply by being herself. Beyond her ambitions, Latoya finds joy in singing — a passion that makes her feel free to be herself and dance like she is in a music video — and she even vibes to music wherever she is.

As a candidate for Miss Windsor/Lasalle 2026, Latoya is stepping onto this stage with one thing on her mind and heart— service. She intends to use this platform to serve, uplift, empower and transform the single mothers of the Windsor/LaSalle community — women who remind her every day of the strength her own mother embodied. She has a touching vision close to her heart that she cannot wait to bring to life, the research has already begun — because talk with no action is not that of a queen.
