Julia Masciotra
Julia, a 24-year-old passionate and determined contestant in the Miss Windsor/Miss LaSalle Pageant, is thrilled to return to the stage after taking a year and a half off to focus on her personal growth and healing journey. During this time, Julia confronted and navigated the daily challenges of living with an active eating disorder. This period of struggle became a turning point for her, offering the opportunity to reflect, seek help, and ultimately regain control of her life. With newfound strength and resilience, Julia is now dedicated to sharing her journey and empowering others who face similar battles. A graduate of St. Clair College with a diploma in Public Relations, Julia completed her studies amidst the chaos of the pandemic, a time when managing her eating disorder became even more difficult. This experience taught her valuable lessons in resilience, self-compassion, and the importance of communication, which she now uses to advocate for mental health awareness and eating disorder recovery. One of Julia’s primary causes is the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC), an organization dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by eating disorders and promoting healthy body image. Julia is deeply committed to raising awareness about the importance of mental health, self-love, and body acceptance. She uses her platform to remind others that true beauty is not determined by the size of your body, but by the strength, confidence, and kindness that radiate from within. Julia’s message is simple yet powerful: True beauty comes from embracing who you are, inside and out. She encourages others to find pride in their unique qualities and to accept themselves with authenticity. As she continues her journey through the Miss Windsor/Miss LaSalle Pageant, Julia is not just competing for a title—she is working to make a lasting impact by helping others love themselves and believe in their own inherent worth.
