Jordan Taylor
A proud biracial and 6th Generation resident of Windsor, Ontario, Jordan Taylor is entrenched in her city’s rich history. A graduate of St. Clair College and the University of Windsor, Jordan holds her Bachelors of Commerce and Advanced Diploma with a specialization in Accounting. She currently works as an Accounting Administrator for a global automotive and intelligent software organization, where she applies her leadership in managing 4 departments and 30 staff members. As a daughter of family lineage who was served by the Underground Railroad to help the Black community escape enslavement from the USA to Canada, Jordan values her heritage immensely.
Being raised by a single father, Jordan is passionate about giving youth in her community by being a positive role model and involved with the Hour a Day not-for-profit. Through her work with the Hour a Day, she serves as a Board member to provide scholarships and resources to the Black Canadian community to help close the cultural socio-economic gap.
Jordan aspires to complete her designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant. Through her designation, Jordan, would like to use her financial background to benefit and educate the youth and the black community to help overcome financial disparities.
Jordan also enjoys reading and collecting Afro-centric books which she donates to the Hour a Day study club. When she is not behind numbers in the office, you can find her breaking a sweat at her favourite dance studio. The most important part of Jordan’s life is her family. Through the mentorship of her single father and older sister, she has developed an appreciation for diversity, education, and resilience.
